Remove solid fill from toposolid

How do I remove the solid dark grey fill background from a cut toposolid? I just want the coarse pattern, nothing else - the background should be white.

Perhaps I'm not thinking clearly and this is quite basic, but I've done everything I can think of, and I haven't found a solution. 

I attach some prints of what I mean, including the view (notice the dark grey fill), the properties of the toposolid (graphics) and of the material used (graphics).

Check the material’s Graphics settings and set the Cut Pattern Background to None. Keep only the required foreground coarse pattern. If the grey remains, also check the Toposolid cut overrides in Visibility/Graphics.

Hi,
For rough detailing, Revit displays the TopSolid fill from Object Styles by default. Check the material chart there and adjust the fill to the color you need.

For high-detail views, customize your Toposolid by editing the structure, but I would make a slight adjustment to your settings—I’d remove the background in the section view and add a fill to the surface.

I tried that before posting. None of that works, and there's no override on VG. But thanks, anyway.

There's no material added on object styles to Toposolid, so there's nothing to adjust there. The only things that can be adjusted, if I recall correctly, are the things I posted.

Hi,
If there is no material assigned to the object styles, you need to create a new material. Then, TopSolid will apply the cross-section settings of that material to the low-detail view, but the surface graphics in TopSolid will still reflect the settings of the top layer material—both for the low-detail and high-detail views

But t worked partially. It worked on the original toposolid, but it didn't work on its subidivisions. Why is that?

It's possible that we also need to assign a material to the subcategories—I'm not at my computer right now, so I can't check.

Hi

When you select a subcategory item, check its material in the properties; the gray background may be configured there.

If the “Material” field is set to “By Category,” the background should match the general Toposolid layout that you have already created. However, since there may be many different elements in a subcategory, it’s better to set the material and its graphics individually for each one

My toposolid subdivision does not have that properties interface - I'm using Revit 2027. The material is assigned in the "edit type" section.

In the object styles for the “subdivision” subcategory, you can also assign a material with the desired background display (similar to the main Toposolid), but this will apply to all such subdivisions—if that works for you, of course.

If not, it’s better to simply configure a view template specifically for a rough display and override the graphics for any element in the filters
