Remove Family Dimension Label

I am creating a shelf family in Revit 2020 and accidentally labeled one dimension instead of another. How do I remove that one so I can label the correct dimension?

In the screenshot there are two "Base" labels, the first one I had labeled the incorrect dimension, and the second I named in all capitals just so I could move on with my project, because the original spelling was already taken by the first label and would not let me create it.

I don't have much experience creating families, so I'm not sure where to look. I've tried looking it up and the only thing close was to use the "purge unused" tool, but none of my labels show up there.

Thanks

Do you have a sreenshot? I'm alittle confused. A dimension "label" means a dimension that is driven by a parameter value.  Is that what you mean?

oops I don't think my screenshot loaded... I'll try it again.

I think I meant label dimensions. For example, in the family editor, if I have reference geometry for a block that is 5' tall, 3' wide and 4' deep and want to label a dimension as "height", but accidentally select the width and label it instead. Now I have a label dimension for what is really my width that reads "Height = 3' - 0" ". So if I go to correct the issue and try to add a dimension label to the correct height, the word "height" is already taken by another label (the incorrectly labeled one from earlier... I hope that makes a little more sense...

I'm really just looking for a way to remove or edit the name of a label for a dimension. Another example would be if I spelled the name wrong and wanted to fix it, how/where would I be able to do that.

"Height" is a pretty common system parameter in Revit Families. It is in-built into templates and cannot be removed or modified in any way.

That being said, I'm not following you too well. What is preventing you from creating another parameter for the dimension to use -- or just renaming the parameter the dimension is using?

...is the issue that these are Shared Parameters?  If so, there are ramifications.  Let me know.

Choose the None to change it back to a dimension.

Or you can edit the parameter to change the name or to delete it.
