Reference planes in linked files to control model elements

I had an idea to create a Revit file that only contains reference planes that are controlled with global parameters to constrain model elements in linked views, but I am stuck on how to successfully do this. Essentially this would help to control the elements as the project grows in complexity and helps us to not have to constantly make changes downstream when moving a wall or adjusting a floor.

I have 2 Revit files that are linked together: Reference_Plane (this contains only reference planes) and Arch_Core (This contains floors and walls). I locked my floor to the reference planes, but when I adjust the reference planes, I get errors that constraints are not satisfied.

Any ideas on how to theoretically solve this issue? It doesn't need to utilize reference planes or separate Revit files, but I would like to be able to achieve a similar result.

That wont work...if you want the reference plane to drive the model elements, they need to be in the same model as those elements. You could use copy monitor in that "Reference Planes Model" but then that would bring you back to a model with reference planes and elements...so you might as well save yourself the trouble of having a pointless additional link and place the reference planes where they belong (the main model)

if you wish to have them isolated...You can set them up a workset which is only visible in a specific view
