re: solutions to "double clicking Revit file to open with correct version"

I was reading a previous post (Jun 24 2019) for a solution to fix the default version of Revit when opening a Revit file by double clicking it. For example; after installing Revit Lt 2020, dbl clicking a file still opens it in Revit Lt 2019.

The solution titled "Modify the System Registry value for RVT file association" did fix the file association, however, it caused another problem for me. It caused the fonts in my sheet layouts to be printed oversize by approximately  1.5%.

This occurred both printing to pdf and from a paper printer. Once the default was set back to Revit Lt. 2019 the fonts were back to normal.

The situation was tested twice with the same results. 

Using Revit LT 2020, Windows 10, Bluebeam pdf printer

Fonts are truetype, changing fonts made no different.

Changing pdf printer did not change the outcome.

Changing printer also made no difference.

Any ideas why that would cause this?

Double click opens file in version it was created??? Since when? I've been opening file in notepad to inspect its version for years.  Can you post the link?  

Just to be clear: I don't know of any solution that opens a Revit file in the version it was created simply by double-clicking on the file.

For clarification, if you misunderstood, double clicking a revit file will launch your default revit version. If your file was created in a newer version than your default version it will not open it. for example, if  your file is created in revit 2020 and your default version is 2019, you can't open it double clicking.

Double-click behavior varies for me and there seems to be no logic behind it. If no Revit session is running, double-click usually opens file fine. If several sessions of different versions are running simualtaneiously, double-clicking may or may not open in correct version, or throw an error message stating that the file was created in a newer version and cannot open -- even though that version is running.  

Thanks very much for the Link.  I've been down that road before without success.   Maybe I'll give it another try.
