Ray Trace Issue

Hi Folks,

I am having an issue with a model I am working on. When I set it to a realistic visual style it appears nearly black so I adjusted the graphic display options to fix the issue. However, when I set the visual style to ray trace the model appears black(see attached jpg). At first I thought it was the light fixtures so I deleted them out but this was not the problem. Can anybody offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

Hard to say what's going on. We can start by looking at your rendering settings. Post a screenshot showing those.

It's because your view is looking up at the bottom of the building and towards the sky.  Basically you're below the ground  and the below the shadowing.

...and it's late in the evening, close to sunset.  It's probably an accurate rendering.  Smiley Wink

...I'm kidding of course. Here's what I get when I Render the OOTB "rac_basic_sample_project.rvt" with the same sun settings you have selected (<in-session, still>).  Yes -- and looking down at the building:

While rendering, in Lighting Scheme, try " Exterior Sun only"

@Corsten.Au: I think all he need to do is change the time of day for <In-Session, Still>.  Here's the same Ray Trace as I did above, but the time of day on this one is 11AM.  I think the OP's is done at dusk or dawn.
