Structural Walls not visible in floor plan

Hi I am new to revit, and every time I try to create a structural wall it is not visible in the floor plan, but it is visible in 3D view.  When attempting to create the wall Revit gives this message " None of the created elements are visible in Floor Plan: Level 1 View..." I have tried to change the setting in the Visibility Graphics but they are still not visibile.

They are beneath the floor by default. Choose Height instead of Depth when you start placing them.
