Railling tag move itself

Anonymous

Hello all!!

I have some problems with the position of a railings tag once I sync my local file, them lose the right position. This is the context:

- I'm working local file exclusive for Sheets where there is a Revit Link, that contains several railing of stairs. Once I open the file or Sync, the railings loose its position. Just in case, the raillings wasn't touch by nobody

Wrong position when I open the Local File

Then I move it few milimeters., automatically moves to a position close to the correct one.

Can anyone help?
Regards

Can you share a file - just an instance of the railing with the tag attached? Just so that we can see the behavior.

Hi Rina,

Unfortunately ,because contract issues, I can't share the whole model where the problem shows, and I don't know if them gonna behave at the same ways as in the collaboration workflow (local/central files).

But, here I attach just as example, the elements in which i have the problems,

Arch File: Contains the stairs and raillings
Sheet File: Linked the architecture for the sheets and tags elements

I would acquire the shared coordinates from the link file if they already have it setup.  If not, setup shared coordinates from you model and publish to the link file.

@Anonymous - I opened both files, tagged the railings exactly as you did with leaders, saved as central, synced, closed, reopened, repeated the process many times - no issues.

@ToanDN  You are rigth. I forgot to replicate the shared position of both files. In the project i'm working on, in fact we have a URS file where all link are positioned (Models and Sheets files). I reattach the files, and the positition should be "Position A".

Coord File: Contains the Grid and it's used to positioning and record the position.

@Sahay_R I think, with the shared position, shows the tag issue.

I don't know what caused it to happen but you can try to select all the railing tags and use the keyboard's arrow key to nudge them back and forth.  I think they will snap back to the host.

Thank @ToanDN. It solve at least the practical issue about its position. But I want to know why it happens, otherwise we must keep reviewing all the sheets over and over again.

Hi there,

So it not just me who are facing this issue. To make it even worst, this 'move itself issue' also happened to stair tag, keynote by element and some other tags too. End up i just use normal text which same to 2d documentation method. Smiley Frustrated

Have anyone find a solution for it?

Thanks.

Hello

You can try "Audit" to the Family Railing Tag. It worked for me.

If the above procedure doesn't fix them, I also recommend you check the version of Revit and install updates. All collaborators must use the same version. For example, I used the 2018 version, now I had to switch to 2018.2 on all computers. It works
