toggling "isolate element"

I am new to Revit and recently I discovered that you cannot isolate an element while you are editing it. You have to first isolate it, then start editing and then if you exit the isolation mode, you have to again exit the editing, re-isolate it and start editing.

I come from a sketchup background, and in it, while you are editing a component (equivalent of element) you can just press a shortcut for "hide rest of model" as many times as you need.

is there a way to do that in Revit as well?

When you're editing an element in Revit, that element is the only thing you can select or modify so is in a "relative isolation", but other elements around are visible in halftone.

But yes, for isolate it you have to exit the edition mode. The same apply for Section Boxes.
