Railings

When I bring in rail families from a revit file, the rails all seem broken, despite the fact that they are ok in the file. This seems to happen without fail.

For instance -

turns into

where the glass panel seems too large and I can't seem to modify it by editing the railing.

How could I modify the glass panel so that it works,

Why is it oversized?

I also can't seem to figure out how to move the handrail profile - sometimes it seems to hover like this, even though in the model it is actually lower than the top of the glass.

K for the love of god I just want an angled glass railing,

this is what I get,

It doesn't matter if I divide the railing up, or just ****ing make it a single line.  Glass here is rail structure, not a baluster element.

whereas this same railing on the inside gives me

Do railings on stairs have to have their glass element be a structural element?

What's best practice for a glass railing that can both go on a stair as well as be flat. Ideally like the one below.

of course, if I make this my railing I get the following bull****

I'm downloading railings, none of them seem to work. Is there a flexible family somewhere that can work on stairs and provide steel ballusters?

Revit railings are trash.
