Railings between unconnected single flights on multiple levels

I'm having an issue with railings which return on a landing where stairs between floors are in single flights and are therefore not continuous.

I've tried using 2018's multistorey stair options but the railing won't return around the landing to meet the stair going up to the next level. So I've modelled them per flight and landing but cannot get the horizontal landing railing to join the railing for the next flight (they are all the same railing type). I've also got a strange baluster hosting issue I can't resolve either, which may or may not be related. 

I've searched on here, YouTube, Google etc but I cannot find a stair and railing tutorial that covers this scenario (unconnected single flights, multiple levels) only ones covering connected and continuous flights between levels. Would appreciate it someone could point me towards a tutorial or post that might help me me resolve these issues.

Thanks for the link but I've watched it through and there's no mention of making connections between handrails from separate stair flights or landings. It's possible I might have missed something. Any other links or posts available??

I have also found a similar (but not identical) post and found this quote. Does this still apply? I'm surprised if it simply isn't possible to join separate railings. Surely there is a way do it?

Sorry @JuJitsoup. I posted the wrong link. And the link I was thinking of, I can't locate.  But, it's a technique for creating custom handrail joins that I have used.  Too lengthy to detail here, but the basis workflow is : (1) model the basic railing parts, (2) create a 3D section box for export, (3) export to CAD, (4) import the DWG model into the baluster family editor, (5) create ref planes and model the custom join, (6) add the custom baluster to the railing type.  It's easier than it reads, believe me. Anyway, glad you found a solution that works for you.

My post may have confused. I haven't found a solution that works. The example I posted gets close but doesn't solve the issue. Your method sounds too complex without a tutorial. If anyone has a link to the tutorial mentioned that would be appreciated.
