"Paint Area" field in Structural column anf framing schedule

Hi all !

There is a field "Paint Area" in Structural column schedule and Structural framing schedule.

But it does not extract any thing.

Why so ?

What is it used for ?

I wonder if that might be some left over from an earlier release? Good question though. Mystries of Revit.

These are additional Parameter's that relate to a Fabrication Shapes not specifically Structural Columns/Framing

These Paint Areas are applied when using the Tools from the Steel Tab

Hi @sakar_deepak

Thanks a lot for posting your question to the forums!   The "Paint Area" is a parameter to report the surface area of beams including the edges. It looks like a token that has come across from Advance Steel. We used this to calculate power coating back when I used Advance Steel.

Im tagging @johnjmbennett & @Rob_Merriman who may be able to give more info.

We look forward to hearing back from you with more information so we can help you as a community!
