"instance has too many edges" when flex -- but no linked dwg, total file less than 200MB

Hello,

I almost completed a project with 10 parametric in-place-models, total less than 200 MB, but when testing for flex parameters, a certain in-place model (especially tile pattern) could have an error " "This family instance has too many edges.  Remove unnecessary geometry or split the instance into multiple instances."

but the family not complicated, no linked cad or image, and I have purged.

is it because the scale of project file has some limitation? say quantity or hierarchies of families?

I searched some passages in the forum but they are related to this error when opening file or CAD Link, not about the case to flex parametric.

Please advice

Thanks

Maybe all the roof tiles are part of the same model-in place? Did you try doing a roof-tile as a loadable family, then repeat? The same comment applies to the wood rafters. Those could be done in the project using the beam-system tool.

hello @Alfredo_Medina

I made a tile family (pattern base, non-shared) (size only 222K) then load to project then apply to the pattern, that is the main problem.

for joist-beam, now no such error, so I can try beam system later.

Thanks

Try simplifying the geometry of the tile.

hello,

from the error message, seems only one element has this error, how can I identify this element according to the ID numbers?

Also, please keep advising on the above question (the family is simple enough, only extrusion of a  curved lines)

ok by changing the family from "non-hared" to "shared" then solved,  though cutting effect not so good

Thanks

@heichan88 ,

Thank you. Your solution of changing the component to a shared family solved this same problem for me.

Best,

Jason
