Hi All,
I am trying to get familiar with the most recent toposolid tool.
I know we can use void/alternatives to cut the toposolid. How do I make a direct extrusion within the toposolid? Just like creating a building pad higher than the topography below, it creates a shape/direction extrusion following the footprint of the building pad ( I will then build retaining walls to enclose the area).
The only solution in my head is to split the area of extrusion from the toposolid, then change its level to match the underside of the floor. However, I am not a big fan of splitting the toposolid. Especially when the design is complicated and has multiple levels, splitting the toposoild multiple times is likely to create errors
(overlapping lines etc) ....
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

You can add volume joining a solid, either a model-in place, a solid volume in a family, or a new toposolid. All of those can be joined with the main toposolid.
The cut and fill calculations won't compute any of the above methods as fill, though. Maybe this will be taken care of in a future update.
For an overall review of all the features, see this video in Youtube:
Create another toposolid and join geometry with the existing. Name it Fill and your schedule shows Fill's volume.
Cut, Fill, and Net Cut/Fill are not working correctly in 2024. You might get one of the three values correct, making sense with what you do with the site, but not the three values making sense together, as before. This needs work.
