Hi fellas!
Is it possible to map separate DWG-layers for hatches when exporting to DWG?
Hatch1 (plan) -> Layer 1 (dwg)
Hatch2 (plan) -> Layer 2 (dwg)
Hatch3 (plan) -> Layer 3 (dwg)
And so on.
From scratch all hatches ends up on the same layer.
If it's not possible from scratch, could it be done with Dynamo and/or using a plugin?
Not within Revit, it only exports according to the category/sub-category assignments. You CAN cause Revit to create new layers for unique circumstances when the element is different in the view from other instances. You need to use the setting for Export Layer options: Export all properties BYLAYER, and create new layers for overrides.
I run script files in AutoCAD to alter layer assignments, merging layers, or matching colors etc based on naming that Revit provides. Easier to control the DWG based result within AutoCAD since Revit has limited options for how an export is generated.
Remember Revit was never meant to be a better DWG generator than AutoCAD, it's a translation to DWG based on their existing assumptions about how an export should be formatted. They've made changes over the years so changes are possible but have to be identified and placed among their existing pile of projects.
