Program the position of a family

Hey guys,

I am creating a building and ofcourse it includes some electrical fixtures. The building has some old walls and new walls. I am creating wall outlets but there are a lot of them. For the old walls I have to built them on top of the wall while the wall outlets in new walls are built in. Is it possible to program the position of the extrusion I created so the electrical fixture pops-up or pops-in the wall by itself when changing a parameter?

kind regards

The solid/void forms you create all depend upon a work plane (reference plane or face). Use one that you can use a parameter to move it in/out of the wall. Then you can change the dimension that drives the work plane (reference plane) for each type (inset or set out) or as an instance value (all variable). A yes/no parameter could toggle the position using a formula in the controlling dimensions parameter formula column.
