Hello

Can someone provide me with the procedure/advice/links for saving a RVT file originated by Revit 2020 to Revit 2017 please?

We have upgraded to 2020 however some of our vendors havent so we need to be able to save to an earlier version

Thanks

Rachel

Hi,

Sadly you can't. Revit is not backwards compatible. Any files you open with a newer version will be (upon save) upgraded to that version and no longer compatible with older versions of Revit 😞

Ask them to upgrade. Else, export to IFC and send it to them.

Hi there
Have you utilised the IFC Export facility as I exported a 2021 Revit file then opened into 2018.
The project file opened however wasn't entirely successful I do believe it's a variable I haven't selected
