Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the community! Smiley Happy

Did you load the default Revit Content when you installed Revit?

The default installation locations for the Libraries can be found under:

Revit 2016: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2016\Libraries

Revit 2017: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\Libraries

It might be that someone moved your default Library Location.

To see if it installed, go to Uninstall a Program to see if it actually installed:

OR

Are you trying to load an - e.g. Door Family Type which was possibly upgraded to a later Revit Version and now you are prompted with an error message?

I hope this helps! Smiley Wink

Did you use Insert Component instead of Doors when you initiated the
command? If you need to insert a Door then use the Door button in the
ribbon. Revit is very specific and only allows the family of the same
category from the command to load.

See the screencast below for further clarifications.

  1. Use Component tool to insert a Door: failed
  2. Use Door tool to insert a door: okay
  3. Use Insert > Load Family tool then you can load any kind of family.  Find it in project Browser/ Families and place it in view.
