Problem with transparency/graphics when printing to PDF

Hi,

I've having trouble with the graphics when printing to PDF.

In the example attached the ceiling has a hatch with diagonal red lines, and shows as a transparent hatch in the Revit view.

When printing to PDF the ceiling disappears behind the color of the Kitchen countertop, and the room color disappears behind the ceiling.

This only occurs when printing vector graphics. In Raster mode it turns out correct.

Is this a problem with the PDF printer or the Revit settings?

All inputs are appreciated!

You may want to check the following:

1.  Transparency is not a feature that you can adjust within the Print Settings/Setup window in Revit...AutoCAD has this ability.

2.  The color may be set to background...change to foreground within Properties of View (assuming color scheme used)

3.  Printer settings to allow for vector linework to print "last" (vector linework on top of color fills)

Thanks for the reply!

1. I know

2. Setting color scheme to foreground fixes the problem with dissappearing room color, but creates a few other issues (not so important to this post).

3. Where/how do you adjust this (Revit 2015)?

My main issue is the fact that its not possible to create a vectorised PDF that looks the same as the model does in Revit.

This makes for a lot of workarounds to recreate an image that should be ready for print...

#3 is referring to your specific printer/plotter.  There is very little in the Revit Print Settings window that you can adjust.

You may also want to consider using Bluebeam Revu as a way to print the views/sheets within Revit to show up properly.  Bluebeam Revu does a good job of capturing the vector/raster imagery within Revit and produces a PDF file directly from within Revit.

I can't seem to find this option in the standard PDF Printer.

I will try the Bluebeam. Didn't have a lot of success with "PDF Creator", but maybe this works better.

Thanks!

Puisse mon erreur servir à d'autres.
