Problem with Realistic View in Revit 2022

Anonymous
Not applicable

Realistic View is not showing anything (can't see surfaces, lines, etc)... when hovering over an element, the blue 'select' outline appears, but otherwise the 3d view looks empty. Shaded view and hidden line views work normally. I have tried deleting the general 3d view and regenerating it, but nothing changes. My PC has an AMD Radeon 6900 xt GPU and an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x CPU. Would greatly appreciate some help! Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thanks

Nate

Try updating graphics card. Check this website and see if it will help

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried updating the graphics card driver and I also went through the post you sent. Unfortunately, nothing worked.

If the info in the links above are not leading to a solution, check if the following article applies (i.e. issue only occurs when double clicking to open models): Realistic Views do not display geometry and there is a prompt to submit an Error Report on exit in R...

Thanks - I can now see the model, but there is still something going on with the surfaces. Please see the attached screenshot. It looks as if there were two elements on top of each other, but there is not.... The surfaces also 'flicker' and the grey/white areas (which aren't supposed to be there) move when I orbit.

@Anonymous From your screenshot, it looks like Z-Fighting is occurring.

If you aren't finding two overlapping elements, try deleting the one you can select, and see if another remains visible (maybe one of the elements is not selectable). If everything disappears when you do this, then undo the delete.

Lance,

It appears like there are overlapping elements (Z-Fighting), but there are not. For some reason, it looks like this is happening across the model and only in realistic view... even when I create a new object/element by itself - off to the side.

Hi, I had the same problem, what worked for me is to make the emissivity of all the lights equal to ZERO, and to open the project from Revit homepage rather than double clicking the project itself, that is to open Revit then open your project from there.

Hope it works!

Thank you @Lance.Coffey I had the same problem and noticed when I opened the project inside revit the realistic view works, hope there will be a hotfix soon.

Best regards, Gustavo

I am experiencing similar, if not identical issues with REVIT 2022.  It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly.  As suggested by Autodesk, I do open all my projects through the Revit desktop app and on occassion my elevations will become a dark grey color (not what they are programmed to be) and there is often a secondary outline of portions of the elevation(s).

I've set all of the views to PHASE: NONE and I still have this issue.  What am I supposed to do to remedy this?  Is Autodesk working on a fix?

I have a 2019 BOXX APEX S3.04 with 32 GB of RAM, but there is often a warning stating I need more memory???

I am experiencing the same problem: The 3D Realistic view was coming up completely blank, but the view worked in Hidden Line mode.  I tried the fix mentioned above, i.e. opened Revit software then opened the model.  It worked.  The 3d realistic mode is now working normally.  What a weird bug!

The 2022.0.1 hotfix has been released and includes an update that should clear this behavior.

hi @Lance.Coffey I just recently installed the revit 2022, with the suggestion here i also installed the 2022.0.1 hotfix...surprisingly, it didn't solve my own realistic view problem...please is there a way I can fix this? because mine has no walkaround, it occurs irrespective of how the file was opened, be it through the software or file explorer.realistic view in wireframe and part blankrealistic view in wireframe and part blankshaded view working wellshaded view working wellhotfix showing installedhotfix showing installed

I've been struggling with this for days as I do an evaluation of Revit 2022. Sadly, when I asked support for how to obtain the hotfix, they said the hotfix is not available to people on trial. So of my thirty days of trial, 30% of my time has been spent working around crashes and bugs like this. Can anyone confirm if the hotfix is available to trial users. The point is kinda moot as my trial is almost up. 😪

I have a classroom with 30 computers. It works on some but not on others, really wierd.

Just curious if this occurs consistently on the same computers in your classroom (or is it more random in time).  I was thinking this was probably a timing bug (also known as a deadlock in software speak). But if you see it consistently on some computers and not others, then I'm wrong and it's something else.

I got a similar error. Have you found a solution ?

I have not seen a solution. I always have to make sure I load projects from
the Revit home page rather than double clicking on the file name. Otherwise
realistic view doesn't work.
