Problem tu cut all surfaces with void extrusion as face based family

Hi!

I´m working with face based families and void extrusion and I´ve the next problem: when I load up my family to the model only cut one surface and not all surfaces. Does anyone know how can I solve it?

Thanks a lot!

A Host based Family with a void precut inside the family will only cut a single element (The host object when it is  loaded into the project).

To cut multiple elements, you do not pre-cut in the family but instead Tick "Cuts with void when loaded" in the Family Categories and Parameters and use the Cut Geometry Tool to manually apply multiple cuts in project.

Face void is tricky because void will only cut through one surface. Even if you have cut enable, it still won't cut multiple. To over come this you have to add solid into it

Make sure you set the display to only show up in one detail level.

Load that into your project and extend that cut. Use join geometry and you should see it will join to multiple level

Switch to medium or fine detail, the solid extrusion will hide from the display
