Poor PDF quality when shadows are switched on

Hi All

When I print to PDF with shadows switched on the line weight comes out extremely light. when I switch the shadows off it prints fine. I have tried changing from Vector to Raster setting but it makes no difference. (see attachment)  How do I fix this?

It could be a function of the images with the shadows being raster based.  The specific views with shadows turned on will always be rendered as raster images.  When shadows are turned off, they are rendered as vector linework.  In my experience, the linework in raster images is always lighter than when they are vector based.

Revit will print to raster when the shadow is on. Try different raster settings such as Medium or Presentation. Increase the raster dpi output from your PDF printer may also help.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried a number of different raster settings and changed the dpi output, but the result is still the same. An extremely poor quality PDF. I have been using Revit for a number of years, but don't think I have ever come across this before (definitely not to this level anyway). Is this something to do with the new version of Revit (2019)? There is no way this level of quality could be acceptable. Something needs to be done.

I cant say I have ever noticed this much of a colour difference in the PDF output.  In Print Preview its fine, the lines are darker and the shadows are visible. It just seems to output the PDF in a much much lighter tone. There is no way I can submit this. Just means I will have to switch the shadows off and try to add them back on in Photoshop which is completely back to front. Oh well one for the suggestion box I guess! But thank you for taking the time to comment, it is much appreciated.

Is it really lighter or is it just your PDF-viewer? You could try and download a different PDF-viewer and see if the problem still exists.
