Placement and rotation options of different categories

Hello everyone,

I need a family which I can place and rotate without any constains, but I faced with them. So I did a pivot table where I collect all options I did. This table also incudes grouping because it also impacts to rotation. The first question: what is the logic of this constains? The second question: Are there more "advanced" teqniques to avoid them? For instance, I know someone are using a colomns or site categories to place scaffolding elements...

What does the Category have to do with it?  I can re-categorize any family.

If you want a complete freedom - rotation in any view direction, start from Mechanical Equipment template and keep Always Vertical box checked.

Yes, but it allows to rotate only upgrouped elements. What if I want to handle of grouped mech families?
