I was trying to put some beams on my wavy roof. But when I want to place one, the beam showed up away from the placement area

Check the "3D" box on the Options Bar and then use the Pick Lines tool to pick an edge. But you need an edge to pick.

You can 3D snap to simple curves. Double curves and/or those curvatures in the images you posted are too complex. I am pretty sure you will not be able to snap/form Structural Framing (Beams) to the edges of those Curves...

You will need to model them using other means ... such as

  • adaptive component (ideal) on a divided curve at the top of the wall
  • or use another Basic Wall ... apply wall by face to an In-Place Mass/Formed Surface (can be the same you used to create the walls)

You can draw a Railing by sketch following the curved wall and hosted on the freeform roof.
