Pixelated pdfs and objects sticking out of walls

I'm trying to print a pdf of an elevation in reasonable quality, but after much tinkering with the settings, the pdf quality is pixelated and appears to be rastering lines rather than creating vectors. In the attached pdf, I have turned the adobe printer settings to 4000 dpi and press quality. In the print setup settings, I selected presentation raster quality and tried both vector and raster processing which create identical pdfs. What setting am I missing? I want the Revit lines to appear like adobe vector lines in pdfs which are infinitely scale-able or at least appear sharper than the pdf provided.

Besides that, I see handrails sticking out in the elevation in revit as well as in the pdf. In the attached image, you can see the handrail doesn't protrude through the exterior wall. Why is it doing this?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The elevation view is going to print raster because the view has shadows turned on. Revit always prints raster if shadows are turned on.

You can try printing to another printing device to see if some of the other stuff goes away? Difficult to know exactly what the issue might be.
