Photometric web file not displaying properly

I am trying to use an IES file to define a light source. I set up the IES file in the family types parameters. The issue is that the light source is coming from a point instead of being distributed along the length of the fixture(see attached image) no matter which emit from shape option I chose in the light source definition page(point, line, rectangle, circle) We are a lighting manufacturer and we create our own IES files. I have double checked the IES file and the light source should be along the length of the fixture, not on a point in the center of the fixture.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Thanks!

If you're using a IES, the other settings don't matter. Am I misunderstanding? I think I understand that you want to distribute the IES along a florescent tube for example.

Yes that is what I am trying to do. The problem is that the light source is only coming from a point in the center of the fixture.

No can do. However, you can achieve this effect (kind of) when you render via several settings.

Just to clarify, the IES file I am using should be telling Revit to create a 4' long light source for my fixture. Either something is wrong with the IES file or for some reason Revit is not creating the light source geometry accurately. I tried using other manufacturer's IES files and got the same result, so I think something may be wrong with Revit or there is a setting within Revit that I am not dialing in correctly.

The IES does not create fixture geometry.

I understand. I was referring to the photometric shape of the light source, not the fixture.

...no it shouldn't.
