Phase Filter: Graphic overrides SOLID FILLING OVERRIDDEN ELEMENTS

Hi Guys!

I searched for related topics long but couldn't find any answer for this weird thing.

I have a model in place - (category: Floor) gravel and have a System family: simple floor with layers. Also this thread is valid for all system elements in Revit( walls, slabs, celings, etc.)

Exceptions ( Structural beams, foundations, model in places, etc.) see ss1

I have Existing and New phase.

I would like to see my New elements Blue - with the material applied (hatches) and would like to show only foreground patterns (hatches) blue for NEW elements.

I can't accomplish this with overridden phase filters somehow the element becoming blue solid even when NO pattern is applied for it.

If the cut pattern is not overridden than the element as new gonna be filled as BLACK solid. WHYY??

also for the model in place it's showing correctly? WHYY?

Please help me out whit this. I don't wanna workaround whit comments some text parameters or y/n parameters to tick it if it's a new wall it's to much work for a big project.

Also from filters can't filter for phases ...

No coarse fill pattern applied with purpose my settings are good but it's really disturbing not to see layers. Also My view is set to FINE.

Also If I don't override new elements than it wont be blue.. or any other color .. really annoying.

@barthbradley  thank you for the reply - but this is not what I want - I would like to have my pattern seen on the pictures with different materials for the slab.

And only want that the cut lines be different color - I dont want to fill elements with blue with no reason.... 😞

I think this problem has to be resolved with an update or improvement from Autodesk.

It sounds like you want to change the graphics of one or more elements. No problem. Select the elements, right-click and press Override Graphics in View: By Element, then change the graphic properties how you want. You can also create and apply a Filter to do the same thing (e.g. override the global Phase Filter graphics of certain elements).

When you set override the New under Phase Filters, Revit uses the Phase - New material for every component.  That's why you see the floor layers as a single color blue of the Phase - New material.

My suggestion is Do not Override New with Phase - New material, click on that box and change it to By Category (see image for how to do it).  Only override the color (cut lines, projection lines, and patterns) to blue.

@ToanDN and everyone thank you for the reply and answer - the solution was right to set phase material to non than my pattern is visible and only lines are blue.

Awesome thank you!!
