Part List from Revit Family File

Revit and Inventor 2018, using both to design, document and fabricate our product.

Is it possible to create a list of each item/part in a Family File?

For example, a table Family File is created with legs, top, braces, etc. and flexed to different sizes using parameters.

Can I create a list of those parts with names, sizes, material, length in Revit?

I'm not necessarily looking for the solution, but that would be great if available, but just if it's possible to do in Revit would be helpful too.

Look into using Assemblies in Revit, and perhaps Parts.

First step would be to construct your families with shared nested components (i.e. legs, top, braces, etc., all as individual families).

For an itemized list with quantities

You can create a schedule of all the families as well, with Mark, size, model number, materials/finishes, Grand Totals, etc.

Revit can additionally create an Assembly and Assembly Views for each one of these components at the press of a button.

Each component is a shared family with the host family shown in the lower right corner.

Thank you, so assuming your Item #1 is a parametric Family File. I'm looking for a list of each of those parts, the bottom plate, the top plate, each gusset plate from that Family broken out into a list. Can that be achieved?

That pretty much what I'm showing in the picture.  Any "value" within the family that is a Shared Parameter or System Parameter will be available to the schedule.  So, the short answer is "Yes; it's achievable".

Thank you, I'll run with that.
