Pads infinitely cutting topography

I placed a pad and in the section the pad is cutting down through the topo infinitely. Here is a snap shot with the area circled. I am in medium detail level and the phase filter is set to "show complete".

That's how it displays. Crop it in the View.

But that is not the correct representation of a section through a concrete slab and footings.
