Overwrite course level of structural Beams

I wonder anyway of overwriting Structural framing systems in Course level other than using filters and selecting in the view and right-click overwriting? I want to change course level of framing such as 'dash line instead of solid line ' in global settings will reflect to my all views and sheets, not choosing each of them one by one .. See the picture, I already choose in My view template as course display, and why not each component to change the display  in this window , instead we have to go families and select too many complicated elements to understand the family first and then if we are lucky we choose the correct line and manage it, which I couldn't succeed specific open web joist family from revit standard library. Any suggestions ? We trying BIM to make our drafting smoother not complicated!! Or maybe it is chosen to be complicated ..

You can override the color of the lines by manage>object styles. If you don't assign a material in the family you can also change the material overhere.

However always viewing a column as course is impossible to manage globally, that is something you would have to change in the view templates. However, you could also choose to hide all columns an use the analytic model instead to show.

Unfortunately not there's no quick fix for this or magic button, Your pretty much there with your view templates tho,

the only other option might be changing the display within the object styles but even that will be a compromise.

Thank you Avaris and Wallace, all your suggestions are accepted, I did by creating filter option in VG , and it is not simple as i thought, I think Revit must do something about simplifying, It is getting more complicated than planned I guess. Since we have overwritten page for display, why not affecting on course too, what is so specific about course options all over the Revit ) ?
