OOTB FAMILY MODIFIED AND SAVED TO SAME LOCATION (revit 2022 and above)

we tend to use the OOTB families quite often. i have noticed with the detail item families the line weights are thicker than we would like. so i change the line weights and try to save back to the OOTB location but i get a message stating that i need to be administrator or someone else has said family open. i could of swore that in previous revit releases that this was not an issue.

That's a Windows message.  Has nothing to do with the Revit software.

...I'm guessing something is out of whack with the Registry if it only pops up with a particular version of Revit.

You know, you might open a support ticket on this through you autodesk.manage.com portal.  I think I would.

You need to get the admin to set the folder to not read only.
