Offset top rail

I have this balcony guardrail that I use a large piece of wood so people can place CUP of coffee, books, etc when they at lunch...as a top rail (in Rv term).

 the reason I use it as top rail because it can extend beyond the last post some aesthetical distance. The downside of this is I can't set it to offset from centerline for above purpose (arrow direction).

Anyone ?

If you TAB select the Top Rail and edit its type, you should find a Parameter called Hand Clearance. This will allow you to offset it as described

You can access the same throughhe Type Properties of the Railing element...Select Rail >> Edit Type >> Top Rail >> Type (Opens the same dialog shown above)
