Object Specific Graphic Display

Hello folk,

I need only the vehicle to be displayed realistic. I tried override graphics view by right-clicking the object but the only options are about surface, pattern and lineweights.. couldn`t find any overall display option specifically for an object.

@barand.

You cannot have both Hidden Lines and Realistic set in the same view. Easiest way is to do what you are after is Overlaying on sheet - Create 2 views

  1. One with the Building ONLY (set it to Hidden Lines)
  2. One view with Car ONLY (Set it to Realistic)
  3. Overlay both view on a sheet

As @RDAOU mention is probably how I would approach it. The other method I've used is insert transparent PNG image into hidden line view. See screenshot.

Duplicate the views

3D View 1: no cars
3D View 2: cars only on realistic view

Place them in sheet on top of each other

What do you want everything else to look like?

Create two Revit projects, one with the vehicle, one with everything else.

Link the project with everything else into the project with the car, set your view setting to realistic. In v/g, check halftone for the linked file, or set the display settings for the linked file to whatever you want.

(If you want the linked file to appear in black and white, you will need to check “underlay”)

Thanks guys for the variety for solutions. I guess we've founded possibly a new feature for Autodesk Revit's upcoming releases! Being able to practically use different templates on each compound in same project just as override graphics would relatively be so useful..
