Did you edit the family?

Click on the window. On the ribbon, click on Edit Family - it will take you to the family editing environment. Click to select the middle vertical and horizontal reference plane and look at its Properties - check the Define Origin checkbox for both.

Click Load Into Project

In the Project - click on the reference planes and ungroup them. Now try to Align the windows. You may need to click twice or so, but the windows will work.

Hello

Centre line of window would be perpendicular to the wall curves/tangent ..

the reference plane you have are not perpendicular to wall curves.. you geometrically you ll never

be able to align them..

you can move the window and place the centre of window to the intersection of wall and reference planes..

Cheers!

Your guiding reference planes are not perpendicular to the curved wall do that you cannot align the windows to them correctly.  Draw another set of reference planes from the intersection of the old reference planes and the center line of the wall, and perpendicular with the wall, then you can align the centerline of the windows to them.

@Anonymous You are looking at an elevation view in the family. Type VG. This will bring up a dialog box. Go to the Annotations tab - you will see that dimensions and reference planes have been turned off. Turn them back on.

Go to the top Floor Plan view. When you click on the middle reference planes, you will see their properties in the palette. Right at the bottom of the palette - click to check Define Origin. You want to change this for the vertical as well as the middle reference planes. Click Load into Project.

In the Project - ungroup; the reference planes - since they were arrayed, they have been grouped. Drop in the windows. You will need to Align each window twice (don't ask me why) but the windows will move to the reference planes. Basically, the windows will align to the point where the reference planes intersect the Origin (which you have just fixed) of the family.

Take a look at the attached fixed file, and reverse engineer to see what I am talking about. Good luck!
