I've been looking at the workflow for creating coordination models in navisworks. I have been going though the navisworks settings for the different files type looking at the pro and cons.
When exporting to nwc, I get a progress dialog that says 100% but in the status window shows the export is still work on generating graphics for multiple levels from different view categories increasing the completion time to export another 100%-600% depending on the number of floor views in the project. I read a post that points to grids and levels / copy monitor being the culprit. remove grids and levels is not really an option does anyone have a solution? I find the native nwc file type the most efficient file type for navisworks except for the added export times.

What we have is our Coordination models for Navisworks in our Template. In each view we create a 3D view with the appropriate workset which does not include levels, grids, etc - only model elements.
Regarding my workflow .Export to .nwc. I have my exports come to a dedicated folder. When I run my clashes, I save the results OUTSIDE that folder. At the next stage when clash detections need to be run, team members export their views again with the same file name to overwrite the first set of exports in the folder. When I run the clash detection file with the new information from the new exports it gives me an updated overview of the clashes. This is then saved to .nwd format so that team members can go in to resolve the clashes. What I like to do is copy and prepare a separate .nwd file for each test that has been run. Makes it easier for team members to find their data.
