Hi I am working in Revit 2021 I want to create a curtain wall

When I check the wall types there are no curtain walls to choose from.

is that the way it supposed to be in Revit 2021?

How do I create one were can I get them from?

You need to download the content as a separate transaction. Template Content has predefined CW Wall Types in it.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/downloads/content/autodes...

..or you can just start from scratch and create your own.

Does it work if you drag a Curtain Wall type from the browser onto your plan or 3D view?

Sounds like you don't have any of these Curtain Wall in another PROJECT you are working in. Use Transfer Project Standards to transfer content from one Project to another.

As I said in my first reply, a few Curtain Wall Types are included in all the default Project Templates that come with Revit.

You win. I'm terribly confused now.

Please restate what the issue is.

I don't understand what you are saying

did you see the picture I attached ?

when I open the families I see the 3 curtain wall types from there if I right click on one of them I can select create instance. but that's just a work around. I want it to show up in the wall types drop down when I start the wall command like it usually does.

why is that not happening don't you usually get to chose a curtain wall in the wall types dropdown when you start a wall command?

Does it work if you drag a Curtain Wall type from the project browser onto your floor plan or 3D view?  It is to make sure if the types are not corrupted.

What is so hard about understanding and doing this?

@ToanDN

I did that and it works to drag it from the Project Browser

but even after I create all there types by dragging them out into the floor plan and creating them when I go back and start the wall command it still doesn't show up in the wall types drop down

You sure about that? Not showing up in Preview Selector? Scroll all the way down in the drop box.

Go to Architectural Tab=>Wall:Architectural. Select a Wall TYPE from the Preview Selector drop down on the Properties Pallet.  Scroll to the bottom. See Curtain Walls? Pick one.  Can you use it now?

What is your Windows display scaling? Not 100%.

Out of curiosity, if you select a Curtain Wall instance already placed in the Project, does the Preview Selector show a picture of it?  If you click on the "picture" does the Drop down box activate?  Do you see other Wall and Curtain Wall Types once it is expanded?

Try set them all to the same %, 100% is the safest. if that works then gradually increase to 150% max.

It is important that all your monitors share the same Display Scaling % to get the Revit interface work without hiccups.

Whoa!  Now we're getting somewhere!  I like @ToanDN thinking on this one. It's related to the resolution. No? Drop it to 125 or 100 and see it that works.

Yes Now I see it

does that mean something is wrong with my program or that happens?

Now its there without changing the scale

after I dragged them in I shut the program and now its there.

does it have to do with something wrong with the program.
