New template for consultants creating point clouds

We are looking at designing a template for consultants to submit 3D scans to us per our standards. Has anyone had any experience with this so far?

My thoughts are to create a template using our existing Architectural template as a base. Delete all sheets, any families and details, only leave building plans, sections, and elevations, possibly a 3D view. What material would be pertinent to add /  leave in?

Thank you!

3D Scans are Recap files.  Why do you need a template?  What you need is sending them the shared coordinates in either a Revit file or a DWG file to use as a base for their scanning.

Oh OK. So would the Revit file that we send them need anything else besides the Shared Coordinates? No views no standards no nothing?

Our surveyors never ask for Revit files.  They specifically asked for DWG file exported from Revit with shared coordinates, grid lines, and exterior walls.
