New Revit Laptop

Hello! 

I was hoping someone could help me find a new laptop. I am in a construction management/ construction science program, so we utilize Revit for many projects. Another program we use is Lumion. I have looked at requirements for both programs and can see what all is needed; however, I thought getting some advice on what other users have had might also be helpful.  Models aren’t extremely large but sometimes complex. Also, would you recommend a Mac or PC?

As the first step, I suggest you take a look at the system requirements for Revit products.

Also, use this tool to find recommended system hardware or graphics hardware and drivers.

I do not think it helps to start naming model of laptops. It still depends on how you are going to use it. How do you divide your time between the different software packages. For example in my case I do most of my work in Revit and an occasional render on my computer. Other renders I do in the cloud.  So my needs might be completely different than for someone who makes use of lumion 50% of the time.

If Lumion is an important part of your work I would look at the system requirements of that. Lumion looks to be much more hardware demanding.

And of course budget is a major factor.

With regards to Mac or PC. As Autodesk does not have a Mac Revit version my preference would be PC.
