Nesting families while maintaining family categories

Hello all. Having a hard time making a bathroom vanity family with a wall light nested into it AND having the wall light symbol show up on our electrical plan. If the wall light is not nested with the vanity then it shows up just fine. The picture shows two vanities, the lower one is the counter assembly and light as two separate families and the higher one has the light family nested into it and the light just isnt showing up. Anyone know if this is possible?

Make the nested family Shared.

May I recommend a better approach? Place the light family independently and directly in the Project. Do not include it in the bathroom vanity family.  That's a little unconventional, and will present other challenges down the road if you do.

Nest them independently. Go for it! Make sure you are using Generic Annotation for your "symbol" to maintain scale. Use Visibility Graphics to fine-tune everything. Another cool trick is to add a dimension to offset nested "symbols". For example:" you have switches that are close together. Be creative as you want int Revit!
