Please take a look at the attached project. The door family flexes correctly in the family, but when I attempt to change the value of the Width parameter. the family breaks and gives me an error message.

Your nested door looks like a mess.  Several redundant reference planes, 3d panel constrained to the wrong plane, and the two leaves are not identical (is it intentional?).  Maybe after you clean it up the parent family will work in projects.

There are two families. The one that you had screenshot is the end door. Even after cleaning up the redundant planes, here is what I get when I insert the parent family into the project -

See revised family in project.

- I labeled the dimension on plan using the core parameter, not from the one from a formula.

- Pinned the center reference plane

- Cleaned up the side door family as I said earlier

- Fix the panel thickness fro the center door family

* When working with a wall base family, change the wall thickness and test
