MX Performance mouse won't drag model,W10 Revit 2019

I am a college student new to Revit.When I use the 99 cent mouse at school holding down the center wheel lets you drag the model around.At home,My MX performance wireless mouse wheel will only zoom the model,but holding the wheel down (which is pretty dodgy feeling on this mouse) won't move the model.I have been into the Logitech settings and can't seem to get it.Should I just find a cheap mouse?

Make sure in the Logitech software that the key press for the middle mouse wheel is set to "Middle Click". 

I believe the MX Master uses the SetPoint software correct? Screen cap your button mapping maybe?

Yes it uses the SetPoint.The wheel on this mouse can be pulled left and to the right,so it lists Left Scroll.Right Scroll and Middle button. In the "Select Task">App Menu I see about 30 choices.....a Right Click, Left Click and Double Click,but no "Middle Click" as an option.The click on the wheel is also not a robust positive click in my senses. I am also not sure what the intention of the center button in back of the wheel normally is....you have to depress it about a mile until it clicks.

Maybe the wheel isn't a button? I'm not familiar with that mouse but I had a mouse with a similar wheel that wasn't a button. There was a separate button for the middle button.

If it is indeed a button, try removing the setpoint software and test the mouse without it.

Thank you for the help.I am just doing a last bit of homework this morning before I rush out.The wheel definitely has a "click" feature,just not the amount of travel I would feel is optimum,I am sure if I am able to get it to drag the model I will get accustomed.I am sure I can conduct an experiment with all the various settings and keep reverting to Default,etc.until I find it.I came upon the forum after googling the problem,but the solutions in a thread about 2 years ago were not successful,and slightly different,but there is a very similar photo of the mouse and SetPoint in the thread. I am just trying to avoid some heartache and get to some productive work,all the extra moves to pan the the model with the top and side bars are discouraging.

At some point I would think that the extra programmable buttons may help in Revit?

ROB,if I disable SetPoint,will that prevent me from assigning tasks to all the extra buttons?I will be back to my computer in an hour or two,I will try your advice,hope it works.

Yes it will, but if the wheel button works with it uninstalled, it verifies that it's a setting in the Setpoint software.

Try the middle button in a different program to check the button is actually functioning. 

I find the tilt wheel on the newer Logitech mice to be a little sensitive, to the point where attempting a middle click ends up doing a tilt-click instead half the time.  So the left and right tilt buttons get a "do nothing" in Setpoint.

And yes, I'm using a MX Performance at work.  🙂

SetPoint uninstalled....I CAN drag the model!

I am pressed for time to get a school project in,but is there anything to be gained with SetPoint and programming the extra buttons and functions eventually?

Dgorsman,I am going to try it for a while this way.Out of all the buttons on this mouse,I cannot see myself using that middle button,for anything that would take a lot of use,for my hand it is very uncomfortable to get at,I almost have to let go of the mouse and slide my hand back and off of the mouse,but the wheel position is pretty comfortable,I just wish it had a more positive feel,at least initially.

Download Logitech Options...  I've got a MX Master 2S....works great.

As I get more advanced,I hope to take advantage of having the additional buttons to work with,for now I just need it simple.I wasted many hours searching for a solution to get the wireless mouse to drag the drawing around,and many unnecessary trips to campus to get things to operate acceptably.

Add to the skills over time. Don't try to do it all at once. Unfortunately this hardware issue seemed like it was an issue in the Setpoint software - hardware issues will pop up from time to time and sometimes its not Revit's fault.

Don't look at it as time lost, but knowledge gained. If you or a coworker ever runs into the same issue - you now have a troubleshooting checklist!

IMO - a mistake isn't a mistake unless you keep doing it over and over again.
