Multi-category schedules not Grouping as per inputs

Hello All,

I have a doubt in multi-category schedules. I took schedules of Plumbing Fixtures, Casework, Plumbing Fittings and grouped as per Room Number. But I noticed plumbing Fittings is not sorted as per the sorting/grouping.

Check Room Limit Offsets...Rooms should capture Plumbing fixtures in 3D I guess...

I tried changing room limit offset.. still it's the same.

Sometimes Revit families are created using wrong template..

like starting with " Generic Model " and later changing them to " Plumbing " etc..

if thats the case with those Plumbing families then they may not pick up " ROOM " 

category ...

Are you talking about Room Aware Plumbing Fixtures?

But I found the problem as @Corsten.Au said its the "Generic Model" imported into the Pipe Fittings family. May be that's the reason, I assume I could not able to group as per the grouping order.

If there is any way to sort the problem. I will be thankful..

Hi

1. you can nest Generic Model in " Plumbing Category Family  ( use plumbing template or edit and resave existing working plumbing family )",

so that  Generic Model family reads as plumbing when loaded in the project...

This is a common workaround for families..

2. Second option is to recreate that family using correct template ( Plumbing family )

I'm a bit confused.  Are the nested families shared? If so, they should show up in Project schedules and adhere to sorting/grouping rules.  Additionally, if the nested family is not of the correct Category, then change its Category and reload it into the Host Room-Aware Family, and then reload the Host into the Project.
