Moving wall issues with model.

Everytime I move an exterior wall in plan, exterior walls also seem to shift their elevation: top and bottom constraints seem to go haywire. This happens over and over.  I fix this by editing the walls profile, and then, strangely, resetting this profile afterwards. This is likely because some constraint is at fault -the software prompt comes up- but it seems this constraint keeps causing this issue over an over.

What is going on and how can it be fixed.

Don't attach walls to floors... I personally despise that function.

Editing profiles for elevation changes is a terrible idea too.  Use the properties and level offsets instead.

Besides Detaching Walls to Floor or Roofs, also look in an Elevation or Section and see if someone has a dimension which is locked from geometry to a Level or Reference Plan, or other geometry.

This can sometimes cause the problem you are experiencing as well.

Hello

When Wall is attached to floor or roof, you can always UNDERLAY upper floor while

editing and moving walls...

Other option for Roof is to use LW ( line work ) and keep upper level Roof always visible in

hidden lines etc..

Am also posting a Screencast showing a difference between Independent Roof and

Roof using Pick walls...

Using Pick walls options, roof gets adjusted automatically when you move walls...this helps a

lot if those walls are attached to roof and editing wall profile won't work all the time..
