Hi again! I'm using LT 2013. This project has foundation walls and footings. The help I need is removing the topo from inside my crawlspace. The pad sketch follows my foundation wall perimeter so the fill goes over the footings. The upper pad is for my garage fill I was planning to raise to the bottom of the sloped slab. What have I missed this time?

I don't see any building pads in those screenshots... are you sure u placed any?

Revit 2013 that is so Retro...when are u planning to upgrade? 2023?

Are you saying that you used the "Building Pad" tool to apply a pad onto a topo surface and that pad isn't cutting deep enough?

...if so, adjust the pad's "Height Offset"

The building pads are right under the footings (light gray) When I select the lower pad in consistent colors I see a faint blue highlight going straight down? Seems like it should be going up? 

[I have 2015 LT but figured I learn the basics on this 13 version. This project and the last one you helped me on will be it for 2013. I'll get the subscription as time and money warrants. Everybody has a story!]  I am very grateful for the help on this forum.

I have the building pad level set to "Bottom of Footing" with no offset. Does the pad not cut from that placement upwards?

Your pad can have a NEGATIVE or POSSITIVE offset. See its Instance properties.

...also the Pad itself has a Thickness, just like a Floor (see its Type Properties).

It is more or less the same issue you had with the building pad on the  front Porch...You have too many Building Pads placed

Sorry for my earlier comment ...but on mobile I couldn"t see any pad highlighted

1. Go to your 3D View
2. On the Properties palette enable section box
3. Grab the shape handle of the section box and drag it to cut through the house (use shaded view - easier to Identify offending elements)
4. You have 2 pads on top of each other 1 at level First Floor and the new one at the retaining/foundation level which you have placed in the above images
5. Delete the one on top (that on the first floor

That should sort out the issue inside the crawlspace

 Edit Start: one more thing .. Pads do have a built in floor/slab structure. If you are using that for some purpore then you will need to set the pad either at a lower level that can absorb the thickness of that layer or use Offset = to  the thickness of the building's ground floor/slab (Similar to your other post..otherwise you will have two overlapping slabs and that Grey Matter) Edit End

Basics are the same mate 2013 or 2017 .... better if you practice on the later version...it has more to offer and you will get the hang of it (the software's new look) better 🙂

If you dont want to invest much...The same books/tutorials can be found in public libraries and university libraries (at least over here they are) ...ie: more or less free access might be useful

I cannot replicate what you have no matter how I tried.  Can you copyclip the topography and the two pads, pasteclip to a new file, and upload it here?
