Modify Ceiling Grid Pattern

I have an existing 2x4 acoustical ceiling where additional grids have been added in some sporadic areas to make it 2x2. It's a small area and I can handle it with detail lines, but is there a way to edit the pattern within the ceiling so it still acts as one element?

You can split face and paint with 2x2 material.

Clipboard Copy/Paste Ceiling to same Place, change the Material of Copy, and then edit both ceilings' sketch boundaries.  

TIP: Use Pick Lines Tool.
