im having issues with my visibility. my first issue is that the model disappears in realistic view but still shows in shaded or hidden line view. my second issue is that im tryng to draw these coloumns and you can see that the darker shade and theres a light column shade. theyre both set to the same material. the darker shade column does NOT show in my floor plans but shows in the render. the almost transparent columns shows in the floor plans but does NOT show in either renders or in enscape

There is an Autodesk Knowledge Base article on this exact issue.  Also ensure all updates are installed

I did note that the Columns look a little different are they generic Revit Families and all of structural categories?

if not they could have visibility settings anomalies in the family itself which would explain being turned off in 3D.

Sometimes people mix up Architectural and Structural Columns and unless you set the View to Coordinate you do not see all items in the model.

please feel free to share the model

The visibility issue is related to "Phases" you have a lot of Phases and they influence how they are represented in a model and views not only by material but turning on/off as they are related to phases so wont be seen in other Phases depending of the Phase Filter settings.

Setting the Phase to Completion + Show Complete display items as expected.

Phase are driven by Phase Overrides - Manage Tab > Phases

Also this is not how you model beams, columns and slabs. you use Families not Model In-Place as these have no reference to anything and although may represent what you need should only be used where an existing family is not present.

You should be using in-built libraries but you can download anything you need if you are not familiar with the location.  Insert Tab > Load Autodesk Factory

You really need to step back and look at what you are tying to achieve here, Do not use Phases if you do not understand them as you will encounter problems as you have faced already, have one Phase and set everything to this phase to get everything in your model and then when complete look at introducing Phases and setting items to these Phases and see how they influence the views and element visibility.

the phasing was able to fix the problem for it showing up on my first floor. however the model still does not show up in 3D realistic view. its also still showing two different shades for the columns i designed. even when i try to render it in enscape the smaller columns are transparent and the taller ones show they have material

Phase Filters apply to every View you don't change one and it updates all the other Views!!

This is YOUR 3D view with Realistic Visual Style - Phases set to Completion and show Complete!!!

jay_colcombe_0-1695454600244.png

They are showing Transparent due to the Phases

Dark Column = Phase Completion

Transparent Columns = A10 Substructure

Phase Filter = Show Previous + New

The override is setting a Transparent Material to the Previous Phase Materials

So it shows as expected

Changing the Existing to By Category Rather than Override will fix the issue but the idea of showing previous phase elements as transparent indicates to the user what is old v new but you remove this so how will they know?

Again to reiterate just set it to Phase Completion + Show Complete

Also Endscape use the 3D View Settings so if a material is Transparent it uses this in the Render

Hi! I too am having trouble with the following Revit Family appearing with the color assigned to it in 'Realistic'. It does appear in 'Textures'.

Note: I do have my Hardware Acceleration enabled. Anyone up for taking a look at the file to solve this? Much appreciated!
