Model by Component

Hi all, I'm using REVITLT2018 and want to model by component. Is it available in this version or is there some other way I can model?

Cheers, Kurt

Do you mean "model in place"? LT has limited in place modeling capability for only a few categories, unlike the full version.

That's the one! I've noticed the limited modelling capability. I have solved my problem by creating my louvers using roof extrusion, it's a bit clunky but does the job. Are there any other solutions besides digging deeper into my pocket?

Cheers

Hi @Anonymous

I see that you are visiting for the first time. Welcome to the Autodesk community!

While Loadable family components (Doors, windows, etc.) can be used , In-place modeling (Walls only) can be done in Revit LT, you cannot shape edit roofs or floors) and you cannot model parts/ assemblies

Learn about the differences between Revit LT and Revit software.

How about trying curtain walls to design louvers?

You can try creating Profiles for the frame head, sill, and jambs, and one for the louver blade.

Set the Horizontal Grid Pattern layout to fixed distance

You certainly can create louvers without in place modeling. A curtain wall or a window family should do.

Take a Curtain wall, edit the properties..

Remove Vertical Mullions.

Keep Horizontal and give fixed distance ( ex: 300 shown )

Keep Curtain panel empty..

thats it..

I have attached Revit file to understand more.

( am not sure whether you will be able to open the file considering Revit LT )

Cheers!
