Missing Reference Planes

The problem I have is the visibility of reference planes in a family.

I have a void in a wall which is constrained between four reference planes as you can see in the screencast:

The trouble is that when I try and use another command, an extrusion for instance or even changing to a different elevation, the reference lines which I drew in the void command are no longer visible.

How can I make these reference lines visible so that they can be utilised in the family?   Is it a specific command I should have used or is there a setting?

So far I have tried Visibility / Graphics by reference planes are enabled as the other two reference planes are visible at all times...

You need to draw the reference planes outside of sketch mode.
