When movign template and standard files from 2012 to 2015 how do you migrate all the setting, including but not limited to:

Moving families from 2012 to 2015 does every family need to be opened and upgraded?
Transferring drafting views from 2012 to 2015, what is the best process?
Can schedules be transferred from 2012 to 2015?
Can Line types and hatches be imported from 2012 to 2015

In general if you open a file in the new revit version and save it, everything in the file is converted to the new version,

For families i use the content batch utility. Basicaly a batch file that loads all the families in a folder into the new Revit version and then saves it again and thius converting them. There are also (paid) apps that do the work a little bit easier.

I always advice before upgrading to make a copy of all your files (families, templates etc). As you are probably aware, Revit files can not be downgraded.

So in the case you have to work on a porject in a previous version it is good that you still have your old files.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
