Materials that load with family

I have created a lighting family and the materials that I need to have.  I have material parameters assigned and the family loads into project properly.  If I wanted to have a set of materials (finish options for said light) load with the family, so that the finish options are available in the project ... how do I do this?  I am currently working in RVT2017.

Thanks -

Paige

The first thing to remember is that material assignments in the Project override those in the Family. So if the light fixtures are set to be red in the family, and in the Project a material of the same name is purple, you will see purple light fixtures in the project.

Understood - the materials are manufacturer specific so they have unique
names - all other materials have been removed from the family materials
browser. I think this works . having a friend check.

Thanks for the response.

Transfer Project Standards and/or save materials you like in your Favorites folder.

Yes - I got it all set now - I just needed to put a value (material created in the family) for the material parameter in the family. And then I created all the possible materials in the family materials browser. With unique names, they were all available in the project when the family was loaded.
Turned out simpler than I had thought 🙂

LMAO! You're post response is directed to @ToanDN, yet his post is empty. You guys must have got some Vulcan "mind meld" going on.  You ought to credit Toan's post as the solution just to mess with people's heads.   I would.
