Hello,
I'm downloading an object from NBS library or BimObject and when I copy & paste the object into my project as instructed the materials for rendering are not crossing with them. Ive been onto NBS about this and they reckon I'm doing everything right and it could be an Autodesk issue. Anyone got a clue?
Thanks
Tomas

the material path is directed to the folder its supposed to be going to. None of the materials are coming through with the rvt file.
Are you by chance referring to Rendering Material Appearance Images? Those need to be downloaded to your computer as well, and pathed correctly so Revit can locate them.
Hi barthbradley,
Thanks for reply, that's the problem, they don't come in with the download file. I got a rivendale slate from marley today from their site and it included a png or jpeg, can't remember now but I just copied that into my materials folder which Revit knows to go look for cos I pathed it correctly. What I'm saying is that when I downloaded a certain slate today from NBSLibrary it was supposed to load all the stuff needed to my PC but it didnt and when I got onto them about it they said I was doing everything right for their part so it must be Revit at fault. Its not giving me the option of downloading the material image. I'm surely going awry somewhere?

I download a lot of Manufacturer families. Not all are zipped with their rendering material appearance assets. The Revit file themselves don't automatically bring with it them the actual image files. I need to find and download those separately, and then re-path the image in the material editor to its new location.
...this is what I'm referring to. Are we on the same page?

so I think in future if it’s not in a zip folder don’t bother with it?
No, that is not what I am saying. What I am saying is to download the manufacturer's Revit file and take the extra steps necessary to acquire a rendering appearance image.
...out of curiosity, who is the manufacturer and what family is it?
Thanks bartbradley,
I'll take the extra steps to look for them in future.

Sorry forgot to give you the info,
I searched NBS Lirbary today for slates and the company was Cembrit and the make Zeeland. It was in a zipped folder so there goes my theory.....:) All that comes in the folder is the revit file no images. Sorry to seem as thick as a whale omelette but where on this site do I get the images from? If you have the time wander over and have a look. Although today I couldn't render in the cloud in Revit and Autodesk told me to uninstall NBS and Bimobject which done the trick so don't know if that's related? Doubt it but there you go,
Thanks again for replies,
Tomas
Just Googled "Cembrit Zeeland" and found many, many images they would work great for a rendering appearance image. Maybe one of those is exactly what you are looking for. If so, just download the image and apply it to the material in Revit.
